Special thanks to Jim Coyer for taking the lead on this event and to all the volunteers who are helping out!

Note: I will be posting the results here after the race.

Pinewood Derby Pre-Race

Stop by at the Pre-Race to test your car on the track and take advantage of our repair table.   It’s good to make sure it fits, rolls and meets the weight requirements. Come anytime between 3:45pm and 6:15pm during the event and leave whenever you’re done.

Saturday, March 22; 3:45PM – 6:15PM
Nesbit Elementary School, Multi-Purpose Room
500 Biddulph Way, Belmont, CA 94002

Please be sure to review the rules with your son! We’d hate for someone’s hard work to be disqualified. This year we have adopted the same rule set as our district, so there will be no disconnects between the rules at the pack level and for those who go on to the next level. Read them carefully, to keep it fair for everyone we will be sticklers. For the official rules for 2014 Click Here

Pinewood Derby Workshop

Work on your Pinewood Derby cars at the Pinewood Workshop at Cubmaster Dan Dowling’s garage at 515 Compass Circle from 1:30-4:30pm on Sat Mar 1, 2014

February Pack Meeting is the Rock the Drought

We will ‘Rock the Drought’ at our Pack Meeting with a special combination of singing and water conservation brainstorming.  Be prepared to join your Scout in belting out some tunes and acting out some conservation  activities.  We’ll also get a dose of “Above Average Humor” from the Bears of Den 3, and perhaps a touch of Pinewood Magic.
For our good turn, we are helping the Redwood Shores Lion Club, our chartering organization, in their ongoing effort to collect eyeglasses for redistribution.

See you all tonight at Sandpiper at 7:00PM

Overnight on the Balclutha

bal_1Avast, me hearties! It’s a Pack 61 tradition that only comes around every three years. You have the opportunity to spend a night going back in time and experiencing first-hand what it was like to work and sleep aboard a permanently moored turn-of-the-century tall ship. Celebrate San Francisco’s maritime heritage, travel back to the “Age of Sail” and try your hand at traditional maritime tasks.

Pack 61 will have the boat to ourselves, plus the rangers. However, we are very limited in the spaces available from the National Park Service so register in the events section, follow the instructions, space go out on a first to register basis.

Saturday, January 11th
